Norbert Rolland Peters, son of Carl and Emelia (Fauth) Peters, was born July 27, 1928 in Tripp, SD. He was baptized On August 26, 1928 and confirmed on June 27, 1943 at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Delmont, SD. He grew up around the area helping on the family farm and received his education in the Tripp and Delmont schools. On June 18, 1950, Norbert married Mildred Fuerniss in Delmont, SD. The couple made their home near Delmont where they farmed until 1979. In 1979 they moved to Sioux Falls where Norbert began working for GTA feeds. He worked both in the lab and outside on the research farm for 13 years before he retired in 1992.
Norbert and Mildred were members of Christ Lutheran Church where he fulfilled his love of music by singing in the church choir. Norbert also enjoyed telling jokes and putting together countless puzzles. Above all he loved to spend time with his family. He was a loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a caring brother and friend to all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all those who shared his life.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mildred Peters, Sioux Falls; children, Deanna Hrdlicka and her husband, Clifford, Rock Rapids, IA, Nadine Bornitz and her husband, Dean, Savage, MN, Darryl Peters and his wife, Candy, Brighton, CO, Roslyn Peters, Sioux Falls, Myron Peters and his wife, Heather, Fargo, ND, and Marcia Kruse and her husband, Vincent, Yankton, SD; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry Peters and his wife, Lorraine and Eldon Peters and his wife, Joyce, both of Delmont, SD; sisters, Bernice Stoebner and her husband, Donald, Bettendorf, IA, Elaine Stoebner, Tripp, SD, and Lois Batterman and her husband, Dennis, Delmont, SD.
Norbert was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Struck; and grandsons, Daniel and Timothy Hrdlicka.
