Rodney Ralph “Chris” Christensen, son of Ralph and LaVonne Christensen, was born October 9, 1933 in Viborg, SD. He grew up there. Chris graduated from Viborg High School, where he was active in basketball. He then earned a bachelor’s degree from Sioux Falls College.

Chris was united in marriage with Anna Mae Smith in Sioux Falls, SD on January 21, 1956. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls, where he worked as a sheetrock lather for several Sioux Falls construction firms before retiring.

Grateful for having shared his life are two daughters, Laurie Wingert, Sioux Falls, SD, Dawn Sorensen and her husband, Shawn, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Sarah, Chris, Cole and Tayler Sorensen; his brother, Randy Christensen and his wife, Joanne, Yankton, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae, on October 31, 2005; two sons, Corey and Carl; his parents; and a brother, Eldon Christensen.
